[Get a free estimate](https://www.jitdesign.net/contact)[(469) 424-4758](tel:+14694244758) ![Row of Italian cypress trees planted as a privacy screen](https://cdn.gxbsites.com/blobs/22b8626c410701698d4ca8fa819ef960b7e26f1cace571f61a22ee74f3f82f33/asset.jpg) We plant shade and ornamental trees, install privacy screens, shape shrubs and small ornamental trees, treat common problems like powdery mildew on crepe myrtles, and remove trees and stumps that are dead, diseased or in the wrong place. ## Planting - **Privacy screens** — Italian cypress (9–11 ft at planting), hollies and wax myrtles along fence lines. - **Shade and ornamental trees** — planted with the root flare exposed, staked where needed, with a tree ring and mulch to hold moisture through summer. - **Shrubs and hedges** — foundation plantings, poolside hedges and linear shrub rows. ## Trimming and care - Shrub manicure and topiary shaping for ornamental and flowering trees - Crepe myrtle treatment for powdery mildew and proper (non-topping) pruning - Deadwood removal and light canopy lifting - Winterising: mulch and frost cloth ahead of a freeze ## Removal Dead ash, cottonwood, pine and other trees taken down safely, including tight spaces between houses, with stump grinding and clean-up. Our customers have used us for storm damage, HOA-required removals and clearing before a pool or patio build. ## Questions about trees & shrubs Is my crepe myrtle dying? The bark is turning black. Usually not — black, sooty bark on crepe myrtles in North Texas is normally a symptom of powdery mildew or scale, both treatable. Send us a photo and we will tell you what we see. Do you top trees? No. Topping weakens trees and creates the dense, brittle regrowth you see on badly pruned crepe myrtles. We thin, shape and lift instead. Can you remove a tree between two houses? Yes.
